HOTSHOT Fogger

This product is easy to use, and has worked effectively each time to get rid of roaches in some of my rental properties. When I have used it, it has been with the purpose of killing roaches. However, Hot Shot Fogger can be used to treat more than just roaches. It kills: Black Carpet Beetles, Brown Dog Ticks, Carpenter Ants, Crickets, Earwigs, Firebrats, Fleas, Gnats, Houseflies, Mosquitoes, Palmetto Bugs, Pill bugs, Rice Weevils, Roaches, Saw Toothed Grain Beetles, Silverfish, Small Flying Moths, Spiders, and Water bugs. However, for the purpose of this review, it will pertain to the killing of roaches.

The fogger comes in a small can with a clicker switch that activates the spraying of the poison. The instructions on the product packaging are clear and helpful. Before activating the fogger, you want to make sure that the house or apartment is vacated, and will remain empty for at least two hours. Make sure that all windows and main entrances are closed. You want to open the inside doors, cabinets and drawers. Also, cover any food that is left out such as fruits, and any eating utensils.

It is important to place the fogger in the center of the room in order to maximize the spread of the poison throughout the treated area. Shake well before activating. Now, you’re probably wondering what order or sequence one should follow if activating more than one fogger at a time. Remember, you don’t want to inhale the poison yourself, so you’ll want to have a game-plan or sequence that allows you to activate each fogger while being able to safely exit the house or apartment. It needs to be done fast, and effectively so that you don’t inhale the fogger yourself. I recommend holding your breath for just a few seconds as you activate, and exit the treated area.

After the two hours have lapsed, you may come into the treated home or apartment, open windows and main entrances for ventilation. If you have a fan, or air conditioning unit, it is recommended that you turn it on for maximum airflow. You want to once again exit the treated area, and let it air out for 30 minutes.

Hopefully, when you come back, you’ll find lots of dead roaches (I did). The product does not leave any odor, or any visible residue. Normally, you can buy a pack of three foggers for less than $10 dollars. I believe this to be a pretty effective and inexpensive way of carrying out your own pest control.
